Functional Overview

Port 1883 is the standard unencrypted port for Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), used widely in IoT devices and smart home automation.

Security Risks & Vulnerabilities

Unencrypted MQTT traffic transmits device telemetry, sensor data, and control commands in cleartext. Upgrade to MQTTS on Port 8883 with TLS encryption.

How to audit network port status
